About My Name

I have always been displeased with the misspelling of words for commercial purposes. Kids R Us, Plez U, phonetics annoy me. Yet, here I sit. Miss Elaineous. I have no excuse for myself.

The name seems so obvious to me and, quite frankly, I would not know what else to call my store? I sell miscellaneous stuff - Decoupage Diva? Frame Fanatic? Scrappy Spappy? I am open for suggestions.

Embellished Wooden Picture Frames

I started to use the decoupage technique on picture frames last year. One style of frame that I use measures approximately 5 x 7 and holds and image approximately 4x6.

The frame is of sturdy wood construction and is painted. Then it is covered with quality scrapbook paper. Sometimes I ink the edges; it just depends on the paper and my mood. These frames are for the table top but ribbon could easily be added to the backside for hanging.

Often times I make entire collections from the same line of paper so gift sets can easily be put together. Personalization is a breeze, too. Add an initial or a whole name.

New Coasters

So I am trying my hand at a new product in the decoupage world and it is these adorable embellished coasters. They are 4.25 x 4.25 white tiles decoupaged with scrapbook paper. The Modpodge is coated on several times. Then each is covered with a glossy acrylic sealer. I used felt circles on the corners of the back side to protect any surfaces from scratches. They can be used as coasters or trivets. I also made some larger peices just to serve as trivits. Each set of four comes in a brown box tied with ribbon with a matching gift card attached.

Scrap Idol Week 3

So I have entered a contest at a local store. It is set up like American Idol, but with designing scrapbook pages and projects. They give you the supplies and you have 1 week to create whatever you want using 90% of the materials. You can add your own elements, as long as you use 90% of their product. Each week someone is eliminated. The contest runs through May. Click the link below to see all entries for all contestants. It has been a lot of fun. My week 2 did not get posted, but week one, did. I am getting better at this.

9 X 12 Clipboards

Large Clip Board

I can't even remember what made me start embellishing clipboards. This is the product that started my esty store. I thought it was going to be all scrapbooks. Then I discovered the joy of decoupage.

I like to keep my clipboards fairly simple and not bulky. This was a popular one - I sold quite a few. The monogram was the clincher. Someone once told me people will buy anything with a monogram on it. She has since gone out of business, but I she might have been on to something. Who knows.

All of my clipboards are sealed with mod podge to reinforce it and to prevent the paper from tearing. I paint them first and I also sand the edges for a finished look. Ribbon usually tops off my clipboards. Either bundles of thin ribbon or one large bow as pictured here. A gorgeous and fun clipboard. This is a standard letter sized clipboard – measures approximately 12” x 9”. Like I said before, I like the practical design for ease of use - no chunky stuff to get in the way of writing. My clipboards are great gifts for someone you have no ideas for. Who couldn't use a clipboard? Monograms are at no additional charge to make it a truly personal gift. I have even added full names to them. Fun Fun Fun.
